Platte City is the County seat of Platte County. Small rural town that is close to all the city has to offer. The town is about 3,500 people. This area used to be a major area for growing the burley tobacco. Many of the growers are changing their crops but the old tobacco barns still stand and are beautiful to view.

The town was founded by Zed Martin in the Early 1800's.
